چکیده
The geometry of a metallic scaffold is important for the success bone implants, where introduction porosity can reduce stress shielding effects and allow tissue integration. In this work, porous scaffolds were designed to closely mimic natural structure trabecular using selective Voronoi tessellation with preferential seeding. A workflow generate these structures introduced, voided regions seeds in starting volume create texture during polyhedral expansion, resulting modified strut orientation implant. Anisotropy was digitally characterized by mean-intercept length star distribution measurements determine similarity orientation. This work demonstrates that an effective method biomimetic increased anisotropy tunable architecture three dimensions as suitable alternative patient-derived geometries.

Cluster Identification via Voronoi Tessellation
We propose an automated method for detecting galaxy clusters in imaging surveys based on the Voronoi tessellation technique. It appears very promising, expecially for its capability of detecting clusters indipendently from their shape. After a brief explanation of our use of the algorithm, we show here an example of application based on a strip of the Edinburgh/Durham Southern Galaxy Catalogue ...
متن کاملGradient of the Objective Function for an Anisotropic Centroidal Voronoi Tessellation (CVT) - A revised, detailed derivation
In their recent article (2010), Levy and Liu introduced a generalization of Centroidal Voronoi Tessellation (CVT) namely the Lp-CVT that allows the computation of an anisotropic CVT over a sound mathematical framework. In this article a new objective function is defined, and both this function and its gradient are derived in closed-form for surfaces and volumes. This method opens a wide range o...
متن کاملImage representation using Voronoi tessellation
The major approaches to image representation [l] in terms of its constituent regions may be divided into two broad categories: (1) those which specify the borders of the regions and (2) those which describe their interiors. Most of the approaches and the more interesting ones, belong to the latter category. This may be attributed to the increased dimensionality of information (regions, rather t...
متن کاملLp Centroidal Voronoi Tessellation and its applications
This paper introduces Lp-Centroidal Voronoi Tessellation (LpCVT), a generalization of CVT that minimizes a higher-order moment of the coordinates on the Voronoi cells. This generalization allows for aligning the axes of the Voronoi cells with a predefined background tensor field (anisotropy). Lp-CVT is computed by a quasi-Newton optimization framework, based on closed-form derivations of the ob...
متن کاملUsing Area Voronoi Tessellation to Segment Characters Connected to Graphics
Little attention has been paid to character connection problems in interpreting the engineering drawings. In this paper, three types of character connection problems are discussed a nd a method using area Voronoi tessellation is proposed to solve problem type II. Using area Voronoi tessellation, we can efficiently determine the contour of the characters and then detect the existence of any char...
